Friends, Fashion Statement... and yarn
First of all, thank you. Thank you to those of you who sent emails and left comments with good wishes for my friend. Things are getting better, but it's going to take time. Your good thoughts and energy and prayers are so appreciated! A special thank you goes to those of you who let me know that you are available to *me* day or night if I should ever be in need. It was a time for my friend to Find Out Who Your Friends Are.
Onward...
Earlier this month, Sarah Lou went to Stitches Midwest, in Chicago, and had the great pleasure in partaking in all of the yarny goodness there. Being a thoughtful and generous friend, she brought me this beautiful gift.
"My Stash is Bigger than Yours"
That's the bracelet I want to wear. Instead, I am wearing this. X2. And for the record, Sarah's stash is bigger!
Quite the fashion statement, no?
But not all is bleak. There is sock yarn. Yummy sock yarn. The Loopy Ewe recently celebrated its one year anniversary. What's a FIRST anniversary without a celebration? Of course, there was a special yarn to commemorate the event. Of course, I had to have some! "Happy Anniversary to Ewe" (top) is shown with two other wonderful purchases.
And, purely out of yarn envy, because Sarah got some at Stitches, I had to buy some Socks That Rock from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. That's "Pebble Beach" and "Foofaraw."
Last night at Yarn Haven was too funny to even try to describe. Somehow we ended up on the topic of shaving monkey butts. I blame Becky and Sarah. The baby socks are almost finished. I have one chemo cap nearing completion. Last night I received a free ball of Plymouth Bamboo to make another.

There is something going on with this "shaved monkey butts" thing because Red Dog Kristi was talking about that the other day.
Sorry I've missed out on so much. I'm almost caught up in my bloglines.
How did we get on that topic anyway? It is all a blur and we weren't even drinking.
Shaving monkey butts? Sounds like a good time was had by all! And that's some yarn pron to be flashing around, missy :-)
Hope you're on the mend right soon.

Monkey butts, eh? Sounds like a grand time. :) The yarn is so pretty and that is one cool bracelet (the once from Sarah Lou, not your Dr. That one needs a make-over STAT!). Hope you're feeling better!
Oooh - you have some of the Wooly Boully. I keep putting it in my cart and then deciding not to order. You'll have to give a report on how wonderful it is. And then maybe I'll give in next time.
Hope that things are going better for your friend! She is lucky to have a friend like you.
Beautiful yarn purchases... I haven't actually ordered anything from the Loopy Ewe - yet.
Look at all that lovely yarn! So jealous! Hope you're getting much better!
I'm sorry to hear about your wrist. :o(
I hope it feels better soon!!!
And what a cute bracelet from Sarah! :o)
Hey there! The Other Karen set me up with a google account! Just stopping by to say "hi"! I like your bracelet!!!
All I know, is that every time those of us on the INSIDE would look out onto that porch, it was nothing but roaring laughter! I'm thinkin' the porch is the new hot spot!!!
See you tomorrow night! Woohoo!
